Track Space Tasks
Record a deliverable, assign responsibility, and review the result.
A Task records a commitment that needs ownership, progress, or review. Keep quick questions in Messages. Use Tasks when someone needs to return to a deliverable later.
Tasks belong to ordinary shared Spaces. They are not available in direct messages or private Center Agent conversations.
Create a Task from a request
- Open the request's message menu.
- Choose Add to Tasks.
- State the deliverable and completion conditions.
- Choose an assignee and, when needed, an independent reviewer.
- Save and keep discussion in the source message or thread.
For example, “Review the signup flow” is too broad. A better completion condition is “List each blocking issue, provide reproduction steps, and link the tested build.”
Understand Task status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| To do | The commitment is recorded. |
| In progress | The assignee has started the Task workflow. |
| In review | A submitted result needs its reviewer. |
| Done | The stated completion boundary was accepted. |
| Canceled | The commitment is no longer being pursued. |
Assigning an Agent is not proof that the Agent has started executing. Check the actual work and result in the conversation.
Submit and review
The assignee submits a result. Without a reviewer, submission completes the Task against its conditions. With a reviewer, the Task enters In review.
Review the exact submitted result. Accept it or request concrete changes. A newer result needs a fresh review.
Cancel or reopen
Use the Task's available actions. Canceling stops further Task transitions and may request a stop for linked agent work. Check whether that stop succeeded; cancellation does not undo changes already made.
Reopening is explicit. A linked GitHub issue reopening does not automatically reopen a completed Task.
Linked issues
Tasks can retain links to GitHub issues. Check both the Task and issue before declaring the work closed. Completing the Task does not silently close its GitHub issue.
