Desktop installation and updates

Find the correct preview build and recover common startup problems.

Choose the matching build

Use the official download page. The current preview lists Apple silicon, Windows x64, and Windows ARM64 selectors.

Download only a build that the page actually offers. If your platform has no published build, use the browser.

On a Mac, check Apple menu → About This Mac. On Windows, check Settings → System → About.

The download or installer failed

Retry from the official page. Check available disk space and the exact installer error.

On a Mac, open the DMG and drag the app into Applications before launching it. On Windows, open the installer and follow its instructions for your account.

If the operating system reports a security or signature problem, keep the warning and report it. Do not disable security protections or use an unofficial repackaged download.

Sign-in did not finish

Use the same account as OpenMeld Web. Complete the browser sign-in step and return to Desktop when prompted.

If the desktop sign-in flow cannot finish, check whether the same account can use the web app. This distinguishes account access from a Desktop handoff problem.

Updates

Review the available update controls in Desktop. Installation, download, restart, and successful launch are separate steps.

The current Windows x64 internal preview does not support automatic updates. Check the official download page for a newer build. Use the browser if your organization does not permit unsigned preview software.

After updating, open the app and check that your workspace loads. Do not assume a downloaded update is already running.

Desktop and OpenMeld Tools can have separate update states. Inspect the connected computer when local agent work is the problem.

Keep working in the browser

You can use the web app while a Desktop issue is investigated. Local execution still depends on the assigned computer and its Tools connection.

When reporting a problem, include the operating system, processor type, Desktop version, error, and time. See Find a fix.
