Ask a Local Agent to review code
Choose the right computer and folder, send a bounded request, and check the evidence.
Use a Local Agent when the code or tools are on a connected computer. This example asks for a review without authorizing file changes.
Before you start
- Connect the computer that has the repository and agent tool.
- Connect the Project folder if you will select work through a Project.
- Check the Agent's availability and working folder. Do not assume another computer has the same checkout.
Send the request
- Open a Space with the Local Agent, or its direct conversation.
- In a shared Space, select the Agent with Wake.
- Review the task settings offered by that Agent. Under Access, choose Read files only when available. No project files uses a scratch folder without your checkout. Available choices depend on the Agent's tool.
- Check whether work will use the current folder or an isolated task folder. To review uncommitted edits, the Agent needs access to the folder containing those edits; an isolated copy does not import them automatically.
- Send a request like this:
Review the signup flow in the selected repository.
First report the branch, commit, and whether there are uncommitted changes.
Read the relevant code and identify confirmed defects.
For each defect, give the file location and a reproduction path.
Do not edit files, commit, push, merge, or deploy.
If the checkout or required input is unavailable, report the blocker.Verify the outcome
Compare the reported repository and revision with what you intended. Read each finding and its evidence. “No defects found” is a review conclusion only for the code and checks the Agent actually inspected.
For implementation work, send a separate clear request that names the permitted changes and validation. Authorize commit, push, or deployment only when those actions are part of your intended task.
If it cannot read the repository
Open the request's task context. Continuing a Space-context-only task keeps that task's access. In the composer, choose Start new, then review Access and the working folder before sending. If the problem is a missing Project connection, follow Working folder unavailable.
Do not point the Agent at a different checkout merely to get past the error. The result must come from the repository you intended.
