Connect a Project folder

Give your team a shared project name while keeping local folders explicit.

A Project identifies work shared by your Organization. Each computer can connect its own folder or checkout to that Project.

Creating a Project does not clone a repository, install dependencies, or make a local folder ready to run.

Add a Project

  1. Open a Local Agent's working-folder control and choose From a project.
  2. Choose Create project, or open Project details for an existing Project. The Projects management page also offers Add a Project.
  3. Enter the name and repository details requested by the form.
  4. Save, then open View details.

Two Projects can have the same display name. Check the slug and repository to distinguish them.

Connect a folder

  1. Connect the computer where the folder exists.
  2. Open the Project's details.
  3. Under This Computer, choose Connect folder.
  4. Choose a folder on the named computer, select a discovered match, or enter its path.
  5. Choose Check and connect.
  6. Confirm that the saved connection points to the intended folder.

Selecting a folder in the picker is not the final connection. A discovered match also needs confirmation.

Choose a default

If you have several clones or worktrees, add each connection deliberately. Use Make default for the folder OpenMeld should use by default on that computer.

Check the Local Agent's Default Project and working folder before assigning work. A Project name does not resolve a missing or moved folder.

When the folder cannot be found

If you moved or removed the folder, update the connection. If verification fails, read the error: an unavailable computer, a Git problem, and “no matching folders” are different conditions.

Removing a connection stops using that connection. It is not a command to delete the repository from your computer.

Agent Activity

Project connections also define where opt-in Agent Activity may observe local sessions. A suggested folder is not permission to collect activity.
