Connect Codex
Connect Codex to a shared OpenMeld Space, review a local repository, and share findings with your team.
Connect Codex to review a local repository from an OpenMeld conversation and share its findings in a Space. Your Codex sign-in stays with the local installation. Review access and tool permissions before sharing an Agent; connecting it does not grant teammates unrestricted access to your computer.
If you already use ChatGPT on this computer, open it and sign in. OpenMeld can use a compatible bundled Codex installation. You do not need to install a second copy when OpenMeld detects a working one.
Install and sign in
- Open the official Codex setup guide.
- Open Codex once and complete sign-in. If you need a separate CLI installation, follow the official guide for your operating system.
- Resolve any installation or account error in the tool before continuing.
Use the official guide for current operating-system requirements and installation commands.
Connect to OpenMeld
- Connect this computer if you have not already done so.
- Open the computer’s details in OpenMeld and check Local agents.
- Confirm that Codex is available, then create a Local Agent using that computer and tool.
- Select the intended Project and working folder.
OpenMeld checks the Codex installations it can control. Check the installation and account shown in the computer’s Local agents list before creating an Agent.
Try a first task
Use the local code review example. Confirm that the Agent reports the intended repository and returns its findings in the conversation.
If it cannot start, read the reason shown in OpenMeld. For connection problems, use Computer help. For a missing checkout, use Working folder unavailable.
